JOSEPH KRESGE

Joseph W Kresge passed away peacefully at his home in Newport December 10, 2020. He was born April 10, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Bretz Kresge.

He is predeceased in death by his son, Joey Kresge and sister Helen Kresge Klinger. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Anita B. Kresge, sister, Jean Kresge of Harrisburg and three daughters: Kimberly Lawrence of Edwardsburg, MI, Lori Kresge of Clinton, IN and Susan Kresge of Howe, IN; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Joe served from 1958 to 1979 as a radar specialist in the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Air Force and retired from AMP in 1997 as a metrologist. He was a member of the Newport-Tennis Lodge #381 and Royal Arch Chapter #238, the Newport American Legion, the Newport Revitalization and Preservation Society, and a life member of the Perry Historians. His interests were studying Perry County history, his family genealogy and exploring the Juniata River in the Hovercraft.

Due to the COVID-19, there will be a Celebration of life service on his birthday, the second Saturday in April 2021 with location to be announced at a later date. Interment on Monday, December 21 at 1 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Incarnation UCC, PO Box 68, Newport, PA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
