ALAN GREENBERG

Alan S. Greenberg, 83, of Hampden Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at home.

Born on May 27, 1937 in Chicago, IL to the late Meyer and Beatrice (Goldstein) Greenberg, Alan was an electrical engineer for the United States Department of the Navy for 37 years. He was a member of Beth El Temple in Harrisburg, Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Alan was a man of integrity, sincerity, and generosity --with a kind, gentle spirit appreciated by all. He enjoyed reading mystery novels, target shooting, watching WWE, playing chess, and spending time with his family. Family was always his main love and top priority. Treasured moments included enjoying many special meals together and playing with his grandsons. Whether it was building a model aircraft carrier (an interest passed down from his father), playing with model trains, or racing remote control cars, he was an important part of their lives. As they put it, "it's hard to pick a favorite time with Grandpa because they were all good."

Surviving are his wife, Sharon B. (Harris) Greenberg, his daughter, Candace L. Greenberg-Thompson and her husband, Matthew of Lancaster, 3 grandsons, Milo, Levi, Silas, and a brother, Sheldon Greenberg of Chicago, IL.

Graveside services were held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Beth El Cemetery, Harrisburg. Memorial contributions in Alan's honor may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
