BEA KESSLER

Beatrice (Fleischman) Kessler, 97, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at her home.

She was the wife of her beloved Harry Kessler before his passing in 1975. Born on March 29, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Schüler) Fleischman. Beatrice worked professionally in the Theatre, performing for the USO during WWII, traveling with a Broadway Musical Production, and at the Yiddish Art Theatre in New York City.

She was a singer and continued to sing after retiring in 1997. Beatrice was a social butterfly, enjoying friends of all ages and was a source of inspiration for the young female members at Gold’s Gym. A special thank you to her caregiver, Sarah Nartey, who gave her the best care up until her last moments and would often sing with her.

Throughout her life, Beatrice was an active member in the Jewish Community and was a part of various organizations, volunteering a lot of her time. She was a member of Kesher Israel Congregation, 2500 N 3 rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17110 and would be honored for memorial contributions to be sent to the synagogue.

Beatrice is survived by son, Sheldon Jay Kessler (Annie) of Pottstown, PA; daughter, Gerilynn K. Henshell (fiancé, Andrew Schwab) of Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren, Michael, Hara, Ethan (Karin), Judea (Scott), and Sahra; great grandchildren, Gabby, Scott, Morielle, Kyle, and Samantha; great great grandson, Richard, and brother, Samuel Fleishman (Madeline) of New York City. She is preceded in death by brother, Alexander Fleischman and sister, Florence LeVine.
