BARBARA ISAACMAN

Barbara C. Isaacman, z’l 85, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, of natural causes.

Barbara was born on December 22, 1935 to Abraham and Anne Cohen in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She graduated from William Penn High School and graduated from Penn State University. She was an elementary school teacher and spent 20+ years at Camp Curtin Elementary in Harrisburg before retiring to work with her daughter in real estate in the Washington, D.C. area.

Barbara was an avid golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed the arts, which is a passion she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She loved Opera, Pavarotti, and ballet. Her one regret in life was that she grew too tall to be a prima ballerina. Barbara was an avid traveler, reader, and spent her life learning, including later in life through Osher at John Hopkins University.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Anne Cohen.

She is survived by son Michael Isaacman; daughters Wendy (Robert) Banner and Amy Breslin; and sister Mimi (Martin) Lowy. She loved spending time and was very proud of her seven grandchildren – Grace, Lucas, Julia, Bernadette, Dani, Jasper, and Will and had many other beloved family and friends.

A graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Beth El Cemetery, 701 North Paxtang Ave Paxtang, PA 17111 with Rabbi Ariana Capptauber officiating.
