SUSAN BERGER

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Susan Possoff Berger, on March 29, 2022, in Snellville, Georgia.

Susan Possoff was born July 5, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, meeting her husband, Marc and moving to Harrisburg. Together, they ran a variety of businesses and raised two extraordinary children. Sue was also an advocate for diabetes research and fundraising, and she helped Marc manage his diabetes for over twenty-five years! Her closest friends are in Harrisburg, and they celebrated every holiday and lived in the same community for so many years.

Sue was also a passionate advocate for women's rights, equal pay, and she volunteered for causes she felt promoted fairness and justice. Sue loved to celebrate the Jewish holidays and was looking forward to spending Passover cooking in her new kitchen, looking back at her recent Israel trip and forward to her next trip post COVID. She loved to craft and create "Diamond Dotz" art, spending 15-50 hours on pieces of which she carefully worked and shared with those she loved.

She was a voracious reader who loved historical fiction and shared books with anyone who also loved to read, she watched dozens of shows and held a strict schedule for watching everything. She had a special love for Hallmark holiday movies, and she loved to laugh and discuss and learn and share. She was a one-of-a-kind person, and we are grateful for the time we had with her on this earth, even though we all agree she was taken way too soon and without warning.

She is survived by her beloved husband Marc Berger, married for 52 years, along with her children Robin Hershinow and Jason Berger, daughter-in-law Lisi Berger and son-in-law Greg Hershinow, and her granddaughter Bailey Hershinow. A private memorial was held in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, April 1.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or to one of the favorite charities of one of Sue's personal heroes, Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Arrangements by Dressler's Jewish Funeral Care, 770-451-4999.
