MARTIN DEVERS

Martin S. Devers, age 87, of York Township, Red Lion, died at 8:30pm on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Alice R. (Hammerstrom) Devers.

Born January 3, 1933 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Sidney and Annette (Belfeld) Devers, he served in the US Marine Corps, US Army, and US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from West Virginia State University, and two Master's Degrees from Washington State University. He retired in 2003 from York College of Pennsylvania as a Professor of Criminal Justice. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel, and had served as the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Probation and Parole Advisory Board.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Devers is survived by two daughters, Deborah S. Devers of York, and Sharon G. Lobaton, of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren, Lily and Charles Lobaton. He was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew S. Devers; and two brothers, Herbie and Sterling Devers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marty Devers Scholarship Fund of York College of Pennsylvania, 441 Country Club Road, York PA 17403.
