Marlene Barasch, 81, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Monday, January 31st at UPMC West Shore Hospital.

She was born in Kittanning, PA on August 13, 1940, to the late Theodore and Margaret (Rosenberg) Schaeffer.

Marlene was a retired office administrator for the Susquehanna Township School District and a founding member of Temple Beth Shalom Synagogue where she was a former president of the Sisterhood. She was also a member of the VFW Post #7530.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Barasch.

Surviving are daughter Suzan Katz Donovan and her husband Kevin, daughter Tammy Katz Baldwin, grandchildren Justin, Ryan, and Elliott Baldwin, sister Judy Schaeffer, and nephew Jim Grates.

Graveside services were held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Carl Choper officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Marlene’s honor can be made to a charity of your choice.
