LOUISE REICH

Harrisburg – Louise Karen (West) Reich, 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Brookdale. She was the wife of Jay Leonard “Lenny” Reich, to whom she was married to for 45 years.

Born on February 28, 1944 in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian West. Louise graduated from Lycoming College in 1966 and then went on to earn her Master’s at the University of Scranton while teaching in the Scranton area.

Louise was the wife of Jay Leonard “Lenny” Reich, to whom she was married for 45 years. In 1976, Louise and Lenny settled in Dillsburg, PA and raised their combined family of five children. Louise had a very long and remarkable career in Human Resources. Her work began as a personnel interviewer at Harrisburg Hospital which led to a position at HACC as Head of Personnel Resources. From there, she went on to work in the Human Resource Department at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, followed by a return to Harrisburg Hospital, AKA Pinnacle Health system, as the Vice President of Human Resources.

Louise is survived by daughters Helene Landau Cartaina and husband, John; and Leslie Landau Schiffer; sons, Stephen J. Reich and Gregg B. Reich and wife, Shannon; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Noah West and wife, Dawn. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Walden, and a brother, Michael West. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19 at the Country Club of Harrisburg, 401 Fishing Creek Valley Road. Family visitation will be from 10-11am and the service at 11 am.
