Elaine Barbara (Karlip) Blecker, age 86, passed away on September 12, 2021 at her

home in Harrisburg, Pa. Elaine was a long-time resident of Lancaster PA, before

moving to Harrisburg in 1983.

 

Elaine was born in Lancaster on June 11, 1935 to the late Abram Karlip and Gertrude

Ansel Karlip. After graduating from McCaskey high school in Lancaster, she attended

Millersville College, and would later graduate from Penn State University with a degree

in elementary education.

 

Elaine touched many lives of many children before retiring from the Harrisburg city

school district, where she was a kindergarten and first grade teacher.

 

Elaine is survived by her son Mark Levinson, daughter Amy (Rick) Berrios and

grandchildren Joshua, Justin and Abigail Berrios. She also leaves behind her long-time

partner and soulmate, Alvin Rostolsky. She was preceded in death by her brother,

Beryl Karlip.

 

A funeral was held at the Kesher Isreal Cemetery Chapel, 566 Oliver Dr.,

Harrisburg, Pa, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 with Rabbi Elisha

Freedman officiating. Burial at Degel Israel cemetery, 170 Charles Rd.,

Lancaster, Pa 17603.
