NORMAN LIPSETT

Norman Lipsett, z’l, 99, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in New Jersey. His children and grandchildren surrounded him with love and celebrated his life in his final days.

Norman was born on October 3, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts. After marrying Phyllis Javitch, they settled in Harrisburg where he became an honored member of this community while serving as a principal at Giant Food Stores. He displayed exemplary leadership and was the recipient of many awards acknowledging his accomplishments and service at Beth El Temple, UJA, The Silver Academy, and Israel Bonds.

A man of vision, determination, and boundless energy, Norman was a powerful force in the founding of the Jewish Home and the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey, PA. He always put family first. His love and devotion served as a role model for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, building a deep sense of family connection. A master storyteller, he delighted his family with meaningful anecdotes of his life inspiring all of us to be better people.

He is survived by his son Yale (Brochi) Lipsett; daughters Beth Lipsett and Julie Lipsett (David) Singer, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston, New Jersey. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
