LOIS FORNER

Lois K. Forner, 96, of Harrisburg, passed away on January 3, 2021 at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on December 7, 1924 to the late Blanche and Charles Krauss, owner of Krauss's Jewelry.

Lois graduated from William Penn High School in 1942 and went on to become a stenographer and administrative assistant at the Securities and Exchange department for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was a member of Temple Ohev Sholom, where she taught third grade Sunday school and belonged to the Sisterhood. She was also an active participant of the USO in Harrisburg during World War II. Lois was married to her dearly beloved husband, the late Bernard Forner, proprietor of the office furniture business, United Sales Company. She loved traveling with Bernard which included many cruises to a variety of interesting destinations around the world. Lois also enjoyed playing mahjong at the Blue Ridge Country Club, of which she was a member. Writing poetry, dancing, solving cryptograms, and crossword puzzles were among her other interests.

Lois was the wonderful and dearly beloved mother of Suzanne Forner Michelson and the dearly beloved mother-in-law of Dr. Paul A. Michelson, to whom she loved as a son. She is also survived by her nephews, Carl J. Nurick (Beth) and Herbert R. Nurick (Donna). Other surviving relatives include nieces, great nieces, and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her loving sisters, Sylvia (Gilbert) Nurick and Mildred (Ben) Alexander.

One of Lois's favorite expressions was "Live, Love, and Laugh," which Bernard used to say to her. She lived her life to the fullest and loved her family very much. She loved to laugh with her family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and a great personality. She spread cheer to others. Lois was also very thoughtful, compassionate, and caring. She treated others with kindness and respect. She was a joy to be around. Lois will be dearly missed, but we'll hold on to all of our precious memories which surround her. She was our sunshine.
