KIM LEDGER

Kim Ledger, 77, of Harrisburg, died November 22, 2021, of COVID-19.

A native of Harrisburg, Kim was born December 4, 1943, to the late Samuel and Celia Ledger. Kim was a graduate of William Penn High School and Marietta College, Ohio. He served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves. A certified public accountant, Kim worked with his father in the firm Ledger & Ledger, later becoming a partner in the firms Goldring, Laudeman, Ledger, & Masterson and Beard & Co. Kim later worked for the Pennsylvania Auditor General before retiring in 2018.

Kim was active in the community. He was a longtime member and president of both the Harrisburg Lions Club and the South-Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. He served more than 20 years on the Susquehanna Township Authority. A history buff, Kim belonged to the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table for 35 years and served as treasurer and auditor.

Kim loved animals. He provided the forever home to many rescued dogs and cats. In retirement, Kim and his wife volunteered at local animal shelters. Kim was an avid sports fan. He was a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan and rooted for the Harrisburg Senators, the Hershey Bears, and all of the Philly teams. One of his great pleasures was going to games with his friends. The only thing Kim loved more than baseball was his family and friends.

Kim is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gail (Pincus); two sons, Kirk, of Oreland, PA, and Dana (Jessica), of Silver Spring, MD; two grandchildren, Kira and Samuel; brother, Marshall (Martha), of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. Kim was predeceased this year by his faithful dog, Arrow.

All who knew Kim will remember him for his love, humor, and, most of all, innate kindness. Kim always enjoyed getting to know people, especially children. He was a loyal friend who generously supported anyone who needed help. Kim will be greatly missed.

No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, Kim would have welcomed donations to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
