KATHRYN KOHN BECKMAN

A native of Harrisburg, sister of Lillian Goldberg, passed away November 20, 2020 in the Jewish Home of Milwaukee, WI. She was predeceased by her parents Max and Marget Kohn, her beloved husband Wallace J. Beckman, and her brother David S. Kohn.

Kathryn graduated from John Harris High School and was a very active young Jewish woman. She was a member of Temple Ohev Sholom where she taught Sunday School. She was very active with Girl Scouts and was the leader of the “Famous Troop 10” of Harrisburg. She herself was an Eaglet Girl Scout of the U.S. She was active with the National Federation of Temple Youth Groups and helped found the first NFTY camp in Oconomowoc, WI. She volunteered in a school for the developmentally challenged in Chicago.

After being married, she lived in NY and then in Chicago where she and her husband raised four boys, Stephen (Karen), Dr. Kenneth (Marilyn), Richard (“Cynny”), and Michael. She was a den mother for each. She and Wally traveled extensively around the world. She adored her grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Lefton, Jack (Carolyn) Beckman, Joseph Beckman, Samuel Beckman, Mary Elizabeth Scott, and her 4 great-grandchildren,  Judah, Marigold, Poppy, and Syndney.

Her burial was in WI. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
