ELLIOT SAUERTIEG

Elliott A. Sauertieg, z’l, of Harrisburg, PA and Sarasota, FL, passed away on February 9, 2022 in Sarasota.

Elliott was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 1, 1930. A graduate of

Albright College and Hahnemann Medical School, Elliott practiced medicine as an
OB/GYN in Harrisburg for many years. No small part of his legacy is the hundreds of babies he delivered during his practice. As an active member of both the Harrisburg and Sarasota communities, Elliott embraced many leadership opportunities, and he served as a two-time president of Ohev Sholom Temple in Harrisburg. He was also a patron of the arts, took on fundraising activities for the temple, and served as president of his condo board in Sarasota.

Elliott was a warm and loving husband, father, grandfather, and caregiver to his three children, daughter and son-in-law, and three grandchildren from his marriage to Diana Sauertieg, z’l, who precedes him in death, and to the blended family from his marriage to his devoted wife, Judy Sauertieg. He was loved and cherished by them all, including three stepdaughters, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Nothing made him happier than spending time surrounded by his loving family, attending concerts and theatre, and traveling with Judy. A cherished memory for all the grandchildren is the trips they each took with Elliott and Judy to cities around the world.

A private family memorial is planned for spring. Those wishing to honor Elliott’s life may make a contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or a charity of their choosing.
