DARLENE KRANZEL

Darlene B. Kranzel, 88, of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg. Born on June 30, 1933, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Arthur and Marjorie Harris Bahr. On November 18, 1999, she married Jack Kranzel who survives at home.

Dee graduated from Kingston High School in 1951. She received her nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania in June 1954 and served as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958.

In addition to her husband, Dee is survived by four children, Jeffrey Eaton (Carol), Craig Eaton (Barbara), Jennifer Eaton Ross (Brian), and Stephen Eaton (Melinda), and three stepchildren, Sheri Arnold (Steven), Scott Kranzel (Cici), and Susan Shaw (Wayne). Dee had 13 grandchildren, Scott Eaton, Samuel Eaton (Moyra), Nicholas Eaton, Rebekah Eaton, Christopher Eaton, Katherine Eaton, Collin Ross, Stephen Ross, Margaret Ross, Milon Eaton, Mitchell Eaton, Erica Shaw, and Kyle Kranzel. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Reshke, of Lemoyne. In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie "Pat" Rumbaugh (James).

Above all else, Dee loved her family. She had many interests including cooking, knitting, needlepoint, quilting, fishing, and traveling. She enjoyed her yearly trips to Sanibel Island in Florida as well as casino trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. In addition, Dee was a novice sommelier.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UPMC West Shore, UPMC MICU Pinnacle, Temple Beth Shalom, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
