ALAN CAHALL

Alan Cahall, 67, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, April 24th.

A thoughtful, generous-spirited man, he was employed as a recreational therapist at Harrisburg State Hospital for 25 years.  Upon his retirement, even as he turned his attention to his wide-ranging passions – among them sports, music, nature, yoga, and above all, his family - he continued to provide companionship and good-humored support to individuals with special needs.  He was a member of the Harrisburg Roadrunners Club and an avid bicyclist; he was a hiker, kayaker, and pickleball enthusiast who participated in triathlons and became a certified Kundalini yoga instructor.

Alan is survived by a family whom he cherished above all else:  his wife of 40 years, Marcy Brenner; daughter Alex Cahall; beloved grandson Jayden Cahall; mother-in-law Janis Brenner; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Roy and Jen Brenner and Terry and Rich Rapagnani, and lifelong friends Greg Crosson and John Laboshowsky.

The funeral took place on Thursday, April 28th, at the Paxtang Cemetery, 490 N. Paxtang Avenue, Harrisburg.   Contributions in Alan's memory can be made to Wildwood Park, 100 Wildwood Way, Harrisburg or WXPN Public Radio (xpn.org).
