The Campus Shows Gratitude

by Katie Crane

All April long, The Campus of the Jewish Home celebrated 43 years of senior care. Our founders shared the joint vision of a senior nursing facility that upholds Jewish ideals and customs. Their dream came to fruition in April of 1977 when we opened our doors to the community. Today, The Campus is the only Jewish organization solely focused on the aging population in Central PA.

Since the beginning, our dedicated staff made The Campus a happy and safe place for residents. Our team continues to spread positivity by writing encouraging notes to residents, planning fun activities, and helping residents contact loved ones. Last month we surprised staff with ice cream treats, written thank you notes, and more to show our gratitude as we all work together to keep residents healthy.

“Much work has been done, and we continue to look for new ways to best ensure we have the tools and supplies we need to see The Campus through this unprecedented challenge,” Allen Geckle, CEO of The Campus said.

You can still help us celebrate 43 years of quality care and quality staff. The Campus is accepting inspirational notes to staff and residents, staff snacks for those extra-long shifts (small bags of chips, pretzels, and more), pocket size hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, gloves, and face masks. Call 717-657-0700 to schedule a drop off in our vestibule. Monetary donations are also needed during this difficult time and can be made at jewishhomeharrisburg.org/donate or mail a check to 4000 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112. All gifts are appreciated. Thank you to all who have donated.
