The Edward S. Finkelstein Harrisburg Jewish Film Festival is jumping on the “binge watching” bandwagon with a star-studded Israeli television series, The Conductor, which will be available for your virtual viewing pleasure from October 10th-24th.
The 10-episode series stars Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote, Walk on Water) as world-renowned musician and orchestra conductor, Noah Gamliel, who abruptly abandons his brilliant career and beloved girlfriend to return to the home in Israel he left 30 years ago.
There, Noah discovers his father in a state of progressive Alzheimer’s, with his only joy being to sing in the local choir. When the choir’s conductor suddenly dies, Noah decides to take his place, giving himself both refuge from life in the international spotlight and breathing space to confront the toughest challenge of his personal and professional life.
The series features a number of familiar faces from Festivals past and Israeli hits, including Shira Haas (Unorthodox, Shtisel), Dov Glickman (Shtisel), Shai Avivi and Efrat Ben-Zur (Here We Are), and Noa Koler (The Wedding Plan).
Tickets are $25 per household for the entire series, and can be bought online through our website (www.hbgjff.com). We will again be using the Eventive virtual platform - as a reminder, if you participated in our 2021 virtual Film Festival or Shared Legacies virtual event, you already have an Eventive account and password. You will be asked for these when you purchase your all-inclusive ticket for the 10 episodes of The Conductor. If you’ve forgotten your password, you will have the opportunity to reset it.
If you are new to Eventive, when you go to purchase a ticket, you will be asked to establish a FREE account. This requires an email address and a password. Make sure to register the email address you want to be used for confirmations and links, and don't forget your password! You will receive confirmation of your registration, as well as a reminder email prior to the film's streaming period.
